OUR STORY

Introducing The Art of Kufic

Founded by two Iraqi-American cousins — Raniah Chalingo and Rana Hanna Al-Shaikh — both graphic designers. The brand was created from a shared vision: to connect heritage, identity, and contemporary design through wearable art.

The name “Kufic” is inspired by one of the earliest forms of Arabic calligraphy, known for its bold, geometric structure and deep cultural significance. This is seen on the Iraqi flag. For the founders, this connection is personal — a reflection of their Iraqi roots through their national identity.

The Art of Kufic transforms this ancient visual language into modern clothing — where tradition becomes design and culture becomes something you can wear.

Launching during Middle Eastern and Northern African Heritage Month is intentional — honoring identity, celebrating culture and heritage, and sharing a story that bridges past and present.

Wear your heritage. Tell your story.
